HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Fishing

My daddy is continuing the Cantu family tradition of going fishing during the holidays.   Unfortunately, he doesn’t fish too good so we struck out big time.  I just hope he picks up his game soon because I could have been inside the house eating turkey and watching football.  But in his defense, as you can see in the picture I was constantly distracting him … instead of reading the tides and looking for bait fish in the water, we are looking up at cloud patterns in the sky.

While my fishing adventure didn’t turn out as planned, our day at the beach, however, was a big success.  Next time we go to the beach, I’ve advised my parents to let us know what the rules are.  As soon as we got to the beach, me and Gigi ran to the water and fell down.  Yes, our clothes and hair got wet and dirty but we did manage to get some good pics.

Daddy has always said the the boys in the family have been blessed with athletic prowess and mad fishing skills.  He also says the girls were gifted with good looks and charming personalities … I think the boys got the better end of the deal 😉

As an unruly, free-spirited, 2-yr-old kid, of course I didn’t want to take pics.  Give me a break, there is a freaking ocean next to me calling my name and you expect me to hold still for one second?  Please!  It seems Gigi was thinking the same thing I was.  That’s right, talk it to the back ’cause the face ain’t listening.

On second thought, brrrr … this water is c-c-c-c-c-old.  OK, mommy and daddy, we are ready to take pictures.

Waiting for the snow to fall

Didn't snow last night, but this morning gave us reason to wake up with big smiles.

Let it snow, let it snow. Our house has snow!

Always strike first in a snowball fight!

Daddy says, I can run, but I can't hide. Bam, snowball on my back!

Whoa, no one told me snow is c-c-c-c-c-c-o-l-d!

The final act, before the snow melts, Gigi's snow angel.

Snow is beautiful, life is beautiful.

I’m growing up so fast November 23, 2010

To my daddy’s dismay, last week I confess to him my future career choices.    During our cruise, while we watched a show, I lean over and tell him I want to be a ballerina and a school bus driver when I grow up.  His response was so predictable.  He mumbled something about being very concerned because ballerinas don’t make any money.

Evolution Exists! November 6, 2010

Filed under: Priest Cantu — Priest @ 3:09 pm

After centuries of debate and turmoil, the issue of evolution has finally been settled.  These pictures taken by determined National Geographic photographers clearly prove that under the right conditions, living organisms will adapt to their environment by evolving.   Darwin, however, didn’t get it all right!  His theory stated dinosaurs evolved from smaller reptiles, such as frogs, but in this case, the dangerous man-eating T-Rex evolved into a cute, jolly frog.  That’s right, as long as the environment calls for kids to go trick-or-treating during Halloween, man will keep evolving … for better or worst.  Just take Gigi, for instance, she evolved from a bumble bee into Strawberry Shortcake … agh, natural selection can sometimes be cruel.  Gee, I wonder if Darwin would give the T-Rex any chance to survive against Strawberry Shortcake.

Move over Tony Manero, there is a new dancing machine taking over the show.

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I’m a woman’s man, no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm.
I’ve been kicked around since I was born.
And now it’s all right, it’s O.K.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
The New York Times’ effect on man

When asked where rainbows come from, Gigi responds, “they come from crayons.”
